Indefatigable Artist Podcast Ep. 18 - Momentary Glimpses
Welcome to the Indefatigable Artist Podcast
Episode 18 - Momentary Glimpses
What can I give in this moment? Right here, right now.
That is what I ask myself when I sit down for this podcast. Why am I here? Why am I doing this? Why am I doing anything? I make the conscious choice to do this over that. It’s what I choose to do. We are products of our environment, but I feel in this moment, I have chosen my environment and it’s chosen me. I feel welcome here, in this home office in Brooklyn.
This week I am finally catching up on a lot, I fell completely behind, having to overcome a lot of obstacles, but we are here, in this moment.
Was up late last night doing a stream for a Mental Health Action Day event thrown in the metaverse by TRU Bandroom and MTV! Was very cool to go to yet another virtual concert, filled with people from all over the globe. Last night was really my only chance to go, they went 24 straight hours, a new performer every hour. Just incredible how they pull that off. Shout out to everyone involved as it is not easy, a lot of work goes into throwing a virtual event like that especially when you have Live streams being fed into the stage like they did.
This past week we also did a Web 3 meet up. I know some may ask, what is Web 3. That is the internet in 3D, social media in 3D. Go from Profile Pic to 3D Avatar wearing unique digital fashion.
Now having posted about the metaverse for the past couple years, I know the knee jerk reaction of the ego is to downplay it, to knock it down, make fun of it, say that the graphics are trash etc. But I think they fail to see beyond the surface. They are just window shopping on their 2D social media app. Remember when MySpace came out and parents were fear mongering meeting strangers on the internet. Now look at that generation simply take over Facebook.
Look at where MySpace was in 2006 and look at how advanced the newsfeed is now. Look at video games, love the one where it shows Tom Brady in his first year of the league and his last year. It’s crazy how far graphics have come and the rate at which these graphics are getting better will only get faster. Then you factor in the coding of artificial intelligence. Boom, an explosion of creativity, the likes of which the world has never seen.
Doing a combination of learning as much as I can, while at the same time putting out content. I feel torn between being early and feeling like I am already late. Have to constantly remind myself that I am right where I need to be, what is happening right now is the way it was always supposed to happen, whether I can see that now or not.
Momentary Glimpses
Writing for this podcast and expressing it with my voice has been very soothing for the soul. I hope it is for you as well. I know it’s random and goes in weird directions, but I think it’s capturing little moments in time, glimpses of my life which is exactly what I wanted to do. I hope in some ways it can help inspire others and that others can resonate with it and share about their journey of self expression whether they are artistic or not, we all have the ability to communicate. Spoken language, written language these beautiful symbols that bring us together, is art in and of itself. The sounds of these words, perfect symmetry for the ears, vibrational geometry.
Language, that voice inside your head, where did those words come from? What’s the origin of your language? Who first created those words? How did those words come about? Shakespeare? Language is elementary. Realizing you are more than the words inside your head, that there is more to consciousness, that language is only a small part of that. Time and mind coexist. You are more than your mind, the thoughts that reside inside your head were put there by your environment, you were born out of this world not into it, you are apart of this universe, this one song and dance.
So many people fear what they call artificial intelligence.Yet how much of their world right now is pure illusion? How much of their day to day lives are spent thinking about things that don’t truly matter when it’s all said and done.
We are meant to be barefoot in the forest, what the fuck is a credit score?
What is a Monday? A Friday? A week day, weekend? These are all made up, over time humans have come together to make these words up and to give them meaning by enforcing manmade laws upon the populous.
Want to finish with an old poem, one that is in my first poetry album Bleace Poems.
Thank you.
If you made it this far, I appreciate you listening and joining me on this journey as we go One step further with every episode.
